Happiness

Como madre de dos niños, la mayoría de mis fotos los retratan de alguna manera. Están en una edad en la que hacen muchas cosas divertidas, graciosas y traviesas, y además, muchas veces están en su mundo y ni siquiera se dan cuenta de que les estoy haciendo fotos. Esta foto es una de ellas. 

As the mother of two young boys, most of my pictures show them in some way or other. They do a lot of funny things, some of them a bit naughty, and they are often in their own little worlds and don't even realise I'm taking a picture of them. This is one of those pictures.

La quería scrapear y regalársela a mi suegra, para que se la llevara a Escocia y tuviera un bonito recuerdo de sus nietos. Para ello, elegí papeles de Maja Design, de la colección Nyhavn y Enjoying Outdoors, y opté por una composición poco recargada pero con los suficientes detalles como para llamar la atención sobre la instantánea. Este es el resultado final: 

I wanted to scrap it and give it to my mother-in-law as a gift to take back to Scotland and so, to have a nice keepsake about her grandchildren. In order to do this, I chose Maja Design papers from the Nyhavn and Enjoying Outdoors collections, and I went for a sparse composition. I wanted enough detail to draw attention to the picture, but withouth too many distractions. Here's the result:

El fondo era bastante neutro, así que lo salpiqué con Distress Ink en Vintage Photo, y también difuminé la sombra del motivo principal con la misma tinta aplicada con esponja. Salpiqué los recortes cuadrados del mismo modo para ganar en frescura y dinamismo. 

Además, estampé el fondo con motivos diversos en Archival Ink en el tono Watering Can. 

I splashed the neutral background with watered down Distress Ink in Vintage Photo, and I also applied this same ink underneath the main composition. I splashed the cut-up squres the same way to add freshness and movement. I also stamped the background with various motifs using Archival Ink in Watering Can.

He dado dos capas al proyecto. Utilicé una troqueladora de bordes para la capa superior, y entinté el corte con Distress Ink en Vintage Photo. Coloqué un recorte de arpillera bajo la fotografía para añadir textura y coordinar los colores del layout. 

I only used two layers to this project. I used a border craft punch for the top layer, and I inked the edge using Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. I used some burlap under the picture to add some texture and tie together the layout colours. 

Hay un pequeño grupo de flores asomando bajo la arpillera. El bichito volador es un chipboard que lleva una ligera capa de Liquid Pearl. 

 There's also a small floral cluster peeping under the piece of burlap. The small flying bug is a chipboard coated in Liquid Pearl.

Por último, unos cuadraditos distribuidos de forma aparentemente azarosa, y un vinilo adhesivo de 13@rts con la palabra 'happiness'. 

Last, some small squares placed randomly and a small vinyl sticker from 13@rts.
